Our current music director Mark Schluter retired after forty-two years of outstanding service to our parish.  We thank him for his dedicated commitment to enhancing our liturgies and celebrations with the gift of music. For decades Mark directed and accompanied the students of St. Mary Magdalen School at school and parish Masses and concerts. As music director, Mark chooses the weekly hymns to reflect the Sunday Mass readings and schedules the cantors and accompanists. He directed the Youth Choir, provided a jazz band at the annual SMM Feast Day celebration, and organized the annual Christmas Concert. Over the years, Mark has helped many  young people develop their musical talents, especially through the SMM Youth Choir which sings at Sunday Mass as well as at special liturgies throughout the year.  

     We also bid farewell to the SMM Youth Choir who sang their final Mass at St. Mary Magdalen on May 19, 2024. Their talents will be greatly missed. Some of the notable musicians who honed their musical talents in  the Youth Choir include: Jessica Borne, Abby Lavigne, Justin Borne, Molly Mulhern, Molly Espenan, Lauren Nash, Alyssa Schiaffino, and Abby Winingham. We thank them all for their dedication and service, especially the current Youth Choir members Lia Revere, Grace Whalen, and Alyssa Daigle, supported by the musical talents of Steven Mylie.
