Come, Holy Spirit! The three sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church include Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Baptism is usually received in infancy. First Eucharist is received when a child reaches the age of reason, around the second grade. Confirmation, however, is received when the maturing Christian is ready and able to affirm his/her beliefs in Jesus Christ and his Church as a young adult.
Choosing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation as a junior in high school welcomes the Holy Spirit to strengthen and renew the gifts and graces received at Baptism. Confirmation helps a young person to face the challenges of a secular world with faith in Christ and conviction in his teachings. Confirmation is also necessary to become a godparent and for Christian marriage.
If you will be a junior in high school for the 2024-25 school year and you desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are invited to register for the Confirmation classes that will begin in September.
Please email our DRE Melanie S. Gaumond at [email protected] to request a registration form. Registration forms are also available in the parish office. Once you have submitted a registration form, you will be contacted with more detailed information.
